    This cookie policy describes which cookies and similar technologies are used on the Marketit platform (the "Service"), as well as which third-party services process data in connection with your use. Marketit aims to minimise cookie usage and never collects data for marketing purposes via cookies.

    1. What are cookies?

    Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone or tablet) when you visit a website. They are used to make the website work correctly, remember your settings and improve your experience.

    In addition to cookies, Marketit also uses localStorage and sessionStorage in your browser to store session data and settings locally.

    Marketing and analytics cookies are activated only after your explicit consent. If you decline, no third-party scripts are loaded and no such cookies are set. Marketit never sells data to third parties.

    3. Third-party services

    Marketit uses the following third-party services that may process data in connection with your use of the Service:

    3a. Supabase (database and authentication)

    Provider: Supabase Inc., USA

    Purpose: Supabase manages our database, user authentication and file storage. When you create an account, log in or interact with the Service, data is processed by Supabase.

    Data processed: Email address, password (encrypted), profile information, business data, chat messages and uploaded files.

    Cookies: Supabase sets authentication cookies (sb-*-auth-token) to keep you signed in.

    Legal basis: Performance of a contract (authentication and account management).

    3b. Stripe (payment)

    Provider: Stripe Inc., USA

    Purpose: Stripe handles all payments and subscriptions for business accounts. When you subscribe, your payment is processed by Stripe.

    Data processed: Payment card details (handled directly by Stripe, never stored by Marketit), email address, billing address and transaction history.

    Cookies: Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud-prevention purposes (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) on payment pages.

    3c. Perplexity AI (web search)

    Provider: Perplexity AI Inc., USA

    Purpose: Perplexity Sonar is used by our AI chat assistant to search for businesses on the web when the number of registered businesses for a query is insufficient (fewer than 3 results). The search is location-aware and uses your GPS coordinates (if shared) to find nearby businesses.

    Data processed: Search query (text), approximate location (GPS coordinates if you shared your position). No personal data such as name or email is sent.

    Cookies: Perplexity does not set any cookies directly in your browser. Communication is server-to-server via Marketit's Edge Functions.

    Legal basis: Legitimate interest (improving search results).

    3d. OpenAI (AI chat assistant)

    Provider: OpenAI Inc., USA

    Purpose: OpenAI powers our AI chat assistant that helps you find the right service provider. Your chat messages are processed by OpenAI to generate relevant responses.

    Data processed: Chat messages (text), search history within the session, approximate location (if shared).

    Cookies: OpenAI does not set any cookies in your browser. Communication is server-to-server.

    Legal basis: Legitimate interest (providing the AI assistant).

    3e. Internal visitor statistics

    Marketit collects anonymous visitor statistics (page views, searches, unique sessions) in our own database. This data contains no personal data and cannot be linked to individuals. This collection does not require consent.

    Data processed: Page visited, timestamp, session ID (randomly generated, not linked to a person) and search queries in the chat assistant.

    3f. Google Tag Manager, Analytics 4 and Ads

    Provider: Google Ireland Ltd. (EU) / Google LLC, USA

    Purpose: We use Google Tag Manager (container GTM-MZQCFZWJ) to load Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement. This helps us understand how visitors find and use Marketit, and measure the effect of our ads.

    Data processed: IP address (anonymised), pages visited, events (registration, subscription, job creation, contact), device and browser information.

    Cookies: _ga, _ga_*, _gid, _gcl_*.

    Legal basis: Consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a). The script is not loaded at all before you click "Accept all" in the cookie banner.

    3g. Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram)

    Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (EU) / Meta Platforms Inc., USA

    Purpose: Meta Pixel measures conversions from Facebook and Instagram ads (e.g. registration, subscription, contact) and enables retargeting of visitors who previously showed interest in Marketit.

    Data processed: IP address, events (PageView, CompleteRegistration, Subscribe, Lead, Contact), device and browser information. Meta may link the data to your Facebook/Instagram account if you are signed in there.

    Cookies: _fbp and _fbc (90 days).

    Legal basis: Consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a). The pixel is not injected before you click "Accept all" in the cookie banner.

    4. Transfers to third countries

    Some of our third-party providers (Supabase, Stripe, OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Meta) operate in the USA. Data transfers to the USA are made in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and based on:

    • EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) where applicable
    • EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC)

    5. Manage and withdraw consent

    You can withdraw your consent to marketing and analytics cookies at any time. Click the button below to reset your choice — the cookie banner will reappear and you can choose again. Existing third-party cookies (_ga, _fbp etc.) can be cleared via your browser settings.

    You can also manage and delete cookies via your browser's settings. Note that if you block necessary cookies, the Service may stop functioning correctly (e.g. login will not work).

    You can clear locally stored data (localStorage/sessionStorage) via your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data in the settings.
